Holy Virgins is young virgin nuns, a crazy doctor, and a creepy island and lots of sexual experiments disguised as tests done to teenage nuns who were never taught about sex so they don’t know any better. Slave Sisters is about two sisters who’s parents died and left some kind of debt wich then passes to the daughters. to pay it offthey are basically going into life long sex slavery, but first they must go through training before their sold. Both video’s overall secure an A+. The graphics are gracious the sound is apt and the space actually exists and makes at least some sense for a anime porn, wich is saying something.

good artwork stutter overs were off but it is what it is.

This is the worst quality Blu-Ray I have arrive across so far. $26.95 is evil for a DVD to Blu-Ray dub. Your probably better off getting the widescreen DVD than the Blu-Ray and playing the movie on upscaling DVD player, you will fetch the same quality. The movie is classic, honest don’t grasp the Blu-Ray version unless you obtain it in a bargin bin somewhere.

My 1-star review is not for the movie, Predator, which I admire. I bought it twice on DVD: the first single-disc release with no extras, and then the trustworthy 2-disc special edition. I am not going to be buying on Blu-Ray, however, until the chowder-heads over at Fox open including all of the ALREADY PRODUCED extras on their Blu-Ray discs. Case in point: Predator.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Predator! Click Here

Predator on Blu-Ray features a higher definition transfer (though on a single layer disc), but carries over none of the special features from the 2-disc DVD. How hard would this have been? Construct it a dual layer Blu-Ray, and objective throw them all on there in standard definition. That would have guaranteed and instant occupy for me. But this habit of dumping the film bare-bones onto Blu-Ray is reminiscent of the early days of DVD, and I plan we were past that. Other studios are doing a resplendent job of including all the special features, so why is Fox being unimaginative? And why are they slapping a $40 MSRP on a bare-bones release?

You would have had me with a worthy release, Fox. I would gladly plonk down the cash for a proper upgrade from my DVD version. But you blew it, and you’re not getting my money.

In 1872, cattleman Wade Hatton (Flynn) leads a wagon sigh in Dodge City, Kansas a lawless mecca of gambling, liquor and destroy. During the slide, he becomes infatuated with Abbie Irving (De Havilland), but she wrongly blames him for the death of her careless kid brother……DODGE CITY is a colourful and action-packed Western that attach grand of the Warners stock company to honorable expend and contains the definitive barroom brawl scene. Flynn felt somewhat miscast in Westerns (and perhaps rightfully so), but this was one of the best. What the film lacks in chronicle, it more than made up for with elegant Technicolor, a memorable gather by Max Steiner and the ultimate barroom brawl scene – plus Alan Hale and Ann Sheridan in serve. Flynn and the notoriously tyrannical Hungarian director Michael Curtiz made 10 movies together; but Flynn felt that Curtiz demanded remarkable too noteworthy of him (he also blamed him for the death of a discontinuance friend during the shooting of THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE in 1936) . Flynn was in care for with the lady-like DeHavilland but he was married at the time and was unwilling to court her in anything vaguely resembling a former manner – which made any conceivable consummation between the two a frustrating matter!

Dodge City is one of the Westerns that region the standard for the thousands that would arrive after it. Fun,comical, even mischievous, with a stalwart hero (Flynn, dastardly villains (Bruce Cabot and Victor Jory), safe and droll sidekicks (Alan Hale and Guinn “Mountainous Boy” Williams), and a woman worth fighting and dying for (Olivia de Havilland) .

Flynn didn’t contemplate himself a wonderful Western hero, but he was perfect, and Dodge City, for the time it was made, and even in today’s harsh light, is advance perfect. Another one of the many vast films made in 1939.

Covering forty years of a man’s life from 1893 until 1932 in a hugely though-provoking 184 minutes of cover time (plus intermission), THE Enormous ZIEGFELD (1936, MGM) is the summit of the so-called Golden Age of Hollywood, a “guilty pleasure” masterpiece, and a richly deserved Best Characterize Oscar winner. Nothing could be more reliable for family viewing now, except for the length with working people and students who have to gather to bed after homework. Maybe a Friday or Saturday night. The life record of Broadway showman Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. (a wonderfully cast William Powell), the film opens at the 1893 Chicago World’s Shapely with a young Ziegfeld (”Flo”) promoting a strong man named Sandow (Nat Pendleton) . His main competition across the midway is Billings (Frank Morgan) with a dancing girl named Minute Egypt. Billings and Flo will become lifetime friends from this beginning.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Great Ziegfeld! Click Here

Around the 45 petite stamp of a dull first hour, undeserved Oscar winner Luise Rainer shows up as Joyful 90s European singer Anna Held. (Rainer is very edifying in the supporting role, but no match for Best Actress competitors Greta Garbo in CAMILLE or Carole Lombard in MY MAN GODFREY.) Held’s large number is “It’s Luscious to be Married.” Off-stage, she seemingly becomes Ziegfeld’s first wife.

THE Big ZIEGFELD becomes absolutely spectacular in its second hour-and for a burly hour. Dazzlingly choreographed help to encourage musical numbers include the Oscar-winning “A Elegant Girl is Like a Melody”, “You Never Looked So Sparkling Before”, and the mind-blowingly lavish “Improbable You”. Only one studio in Hollywood could have made this fabulously interesting movie that keeps topping itself with musical numbers for half an hour on either side on a theatrical intermission. (Entr’acte and prologue music have been restored to the VHS tape version I am reviewing.) It is all appealing and exhausting.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Great Ziegfeld! Click Here

At the beginning of the third hour, second-billed Myrna Loy finally shows up as Billie Burke at a party and soon marries Flo. (This confuses me. The right Burke was mild alive in 1936. She was the Ample Witch three years later in THE WIZARD OF OZ. Why didn’t she play herself here? ) Billings is level-headed around as a salubrious pest to borrow money for rival stage productions. For Barbra Streisand fans, the sincere Fanny Brice shows up for a few fun scenes. And Anna Held divorces Flo over seeming adultery with a vain showgirl named Audrey (Virginia Bruce) . Then she has a telephone scene that is one of the most overrated scenes for me in Hollywood’s history as she congratulates Flo on his marriage to Billie. (One undistinguished telephone scene, and she wins a Best Actress Oscar over Garbo and Lombard?!)

The last 45 minutes of THE Stout ZIEGFELD has Harriet Hocter play herself for another opulent musical number, “A Circus Should Be Bigger in a Ziegfeld Reveal.” A young lady from the film’s first half hour, Sally, gets a display named after her. We are up to the 1920s, and Ziegfeld has four shows running on Broadway at the same time. (One, RIO RITA, he personally supervised the 1929 film of. It shows up now and then on Turner Classic Movies.) Billings and Flo both go broke in The Gargantuan Break. The movie ends with the enormous showman’s poignant death in 1932.

This MGM blockbuster, titanic even by today’s standards, was produced by Hunt Stromberg, directed by Robert Z. Leonard, and written by William Anthony McGuire. In 1936, William Powell appeared in not unprejudiced this cinematic sparkler, but also AFTER THE THIN MAN (also with Loy), MY MAN GODFREY (Oscar nomination), and LIBELED LADY (again with Loy) . It is a stupendous product of the Hollywood factory and star systems, and again it is about perfect for family viewing–complete with an intermission if you need to do its 184 minutes in two nights.

(Reviewed from restored roadshow VHS videocassette.)

I can’t quite remember how worn I was when I first saw this film, I must of been 4 or 5, all I remember was I didn’t aid school yet, but, “The Ample Ziegfeld”, was the ultimate movie of my childhood. It’s what first place the opinion of making films in my head. Recently I viewed the movie again, and it’s unexcited as charming and as fantastic as ever! Objective about every momemnt of it brought enjoyment.
It’s not hard to peer why this movie won the best relate Oscar in 1936. The large sets, the lavish costumes, heavenly women, and the all-star cast headed by William Powell (whom sadly wasn’t given a nomination for this film, but, was up that year anyway, for “My Man Godfrey”) and including Myrna Loy (Whom has acted with Powell in “The Thin Man” in 1934, I deem), Luise Rainer (Who won an Oscar for her role, she also won the following year for “The Salubrious Earth”), Frank Morgan & Ray Bolger (Both probably best known for their roles in “The Wizard of Oz” Morgan – Oz, Bolger – The Scarecrow), Fanny Brice, and Virgina Bruce, are unbiased a few of the illustrious face who appear in and out of this movie. One can only imagine, since I wasn’t even born yet, what kind of reaction this film was received with when first released. I can only guess people were truly taken away with it. It really must of been something special to eye this help then. This isn’t really a astronomical film. I savor it correct, and I will continue to behold it again and again. But, this movie is unprejudiced like the shows effect on by Florenz Ziegfeld himself, an extravaganza! It “pleasing” to scrutinize. It’s fun to go encourage in time and relive the past. To observe what entertained people relieve then, but otherwise, this is not a “best narrate” type of film. But, like I said, it’s understandable as to why it won abet then. People, I recall must of never seen a tall, splashy movie like this before. And even in the fresh world, I’m mild amazed by it. Then again, I’m a bit bias towards these movies. I esteem films from the 30’s and 40’s. They’re portion of my childhood. Even though I’m 19.
“The Enormous Ziegfeld” tells the memoir of America’s greatest showman, Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. (William Powell) . We eye him at the Chicago World Comely in the gradual 1890’s. He’s struggling with a “world’s strongest man” act. His main competition is Jack Billings (Frank Morgan), who also happens to be a finish friend. He has a “women’s exhibit” called “Shrimp Egypt”. We peek Ziegfeld, then turn himself into a stout showman. By playing the press. He creates stories to support his talent in the papers, then he gets a rupture. It meets Anna Held (Luise Rainer, and I agree with everyone on here, her performance is a standout. It’s truly unforgettable) . Who he opens a lot of doors for and she for him. But, it’s not untill he gets an plan to do a “women’s expose” “glorifying” the everyday women, “The Ziegfeld Follies”, that he achieves his greatest success. I really don’t want to spoil too remarkable of the film for those who haven’t seen to film yet, but, that was a brief description of the events that bewitch situation.
“The Broad Ziegfeld” went on to pick up 7 Oscar nominations, and won 3;”Best Report”, “Best Actress” & “Best Dance Direction”. The film’s highpoints for me include the stout fair dance number of “A Heavenly Girl Is Like A Melody” which goes into a medley including Puccini’s Un Bel Di Verdremo, and closing with Gershwin’s “Rhpasody In Blue”. Then there’s Ray Bolger’s song and dance to “She’s A Follies Girl”. His dancing is really fabulous and proves what type of talent he was. I also enjoyed seeing Buddy Dolye impersonate one of my favorites Eddie Canntor singing “If You Knew Susie”. Seeing Fanny Brice narrate “Yiddle On Your Fiddle” and “My Man” was also extraordinary. There’s a nice region fraction when Vigina Bruce sings “You Never Looked So Handsome” and hearing “You” effect a smile on my face.
If you luxuriate in classic films, than this should please all filmbuffs. It’s nice intellectual, that while Hollywood can’t beget ‘em like this anymore, I’m serene able to revisit my childhood as long as we have these tapes.
Bottom-line: The ultimate movie of my childhood is one of the enormous early movie musicals of all time! Mountainous and splashy it shows us what Hollywood was once like, and what it can never be like again. This is one to glimpse for it’s “time capsule” purposes mostly.

At last, a well-behaved elegant copy of this unbelievable screwball romantic comedy! Mighty suitable to the Hollywood Classics DVD which was washed-out and missing a key scene.

Well, this is fair one of the best of the half-dozen or so top screwball comedies of the 30’s. A dream cast plays it light and loose, with the proper world of Depression-era America as a backdrop to a like myth and a light lesson in responsibility, both to one’s friends & family, to one’s society, and to one’s better nature.

And what a cast. William Powell is the epitome of debonair (what a quaint term: NO ONE is debonair anymore, alas) with one of the best comedic touches and timing in the business. Opposite Powell is Carole Lombard, young, adorable, pleasing and screwy and a perfect foil for Powell’s peaceful decorum. The supporting cast is first rate: Eugene Pallete the long-suffering businessman/husband; Gail Patrick, the attractive but bitchy Cornelia; Mischa Auer’s deadbeat Carlo; Alice Brady’s clueless mother; Jean Dixon’s wisecracking maid & Alan Mowbry as the rich & useless but decent Tommy Gray.

Enjoy comedy played by pros to a fare-thee-well. It’s all attitude and delivery and body english and it is ample! They can’t produce them like this anymore. Style and class.

The extras are quite trustworthy with a nice commentary track by Bob Gilpin and some hysterical outtakes (yes, they cussed serve then too!) . The print is blooming grand tidy and a mountainous improvement over previous editions.

For those of you lucky enough to know, or who propose to earn to know, this flick, you’ve arrive to the apt station. Amazon sells two DVD versions of My Man Godfrey. I’ve seen both, as well as the VHS, and this one, the least expensive, from a company called Platinum, is by far the best quality. The other DVD, by Madacy Entertainment, is a fiasco based on a unpleasant print that happens to also be missing a crucial scene. Why Amazon continues to sell it, I don’t know.

For pure Murky Shadows at its classic best, this box state presents 40 episodes that portend the core brilliance of what has made this supernatural daytime series endure these past 38 years: Fancy, death, scare, longing, revenge, obsession, lies, secrets, loyalty and betrayal all played out against a compelling backdrop of Gothic sensibilities that include a 175-year-old guilt-ridden and love-lorn vampire, seances, time depart, ghosts, mystery, assassinate, intrigue and a constant dose of the unexpected.

This “soap opera” managed to transcend its genre by bringing a taste of Gothic panic and science-fiction fantasy to the hum-drum world of the afternoon drama, and DVD Collection 4 underscores that more than any of the previous Murky Shadows DVD releases. In fact, almost every necessary recurring Murky Shadows theme that was to occupy the series through its entire five-year urge and into TV immortality is represented somewhere within the episodes of this astonishing box status.

The vampire Barnabas Collins, portrayed brilliantly by the classically trained actor Jonathan Frid, was to be a temporary character that would be killed off following a reign of fright, but Frid’s compelling characterization caused Barnabas to remain throughout the series as ratings sored and Frid became a national phenomenon among viewers.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dark Shadows DVD Collection 4! Click Here

In this box status, the “human side” of Barnabas is about to be revealed for the first time when governess Victoria Winters is transported support in time via a seance. The seance is an attempt by the Collins family to come the ghost of a tiny girl named “Sarah,” who has being appearing to assist those in Collinwood. Sarah is actually the 10-year-old sister of Barnabas, whom he loves deeply, and who died tragically.

During the seance, Victoria abruptly disappears from the Collins’ drawing room and ends up in the Collinwood of 1795 where she eventually meets the Barnabas Collins of that time. This is Barnabas BEFORE a viscious curse had turned him into a vampire.

Viewers glimpse that Barnabas is about to wed the care for of his life, Josette Du Pres, but a jealous servant of Josette’s with whom Barnabas had brief affair, successfully plots to waste their relationship. The servant, Angelique, portrayed with lovely ability by Lara Parker, is actually a witch born in Martinique who uses her supernatural powers to atomize havoc on the pair and almost everyone else in Collinwood.

The myth of Barnabas, his fancy for Josette that ends tragically and his involuntary transformation into a vampire is the cornerstone for all of the later myth arcs that are to reach in the series. It also is the first of many stories that utilizes the core cast of this astonishing series to play their absorb relatives or other people in the past.

This box situation also provides some of the most compelling episodes in present-day Collinwood as Barnabas struggles to become human. Dr. Julia Hoffman, played by the Emmy-worthy actress Grayson Hall, has fallen in like with Barnabas and is willing to do anything to wait on him. To that ruin, she performs a series of experiments that result in a serium she injects him with to slay his vampire torment. Unfortunately, the injections result in Barnabas beginning to age to his proper years — 175! Improbable makeup for Frid makes the transformation believable.

The production quality of these box sets are splendid considering the recent source material did not produce it through the decades as unscathed as did the reputation of this extraordinary series. In two words: Occupy It!

Dark Shadows Collection 4 delivers forty more episodes of spellbinding, effective gothic melodrama, made more potent by the inclusion of a couple of especially dramatic developments: Barnabas entertaining beyond his frequent empty threats of violence and actually killing someone to support the truth of his existence a secret, and, later in the dwelling, a sudden and unexpected dart to the past to exhibit us the origin of the undead Barnabas. All spacious stuff.

But first, a naughty, minor quibble. It’s actually kind of cheesy that when we shift to the past, members of the 18th century Collins family are played by the same actors who execute in the present-day storylines. In actuality, only Jonathan Frid as Barnabas should have appeared in both time frames, due to the fact that he’s playing the same (ultimately immortal) character in both storylines! But I guess budget limitations prevented the exercise of a new batch of actors for the earlier sequences. At least Victoria Winters, after she goes succor in time, DOES contemplate it is spellbinding that everyone looks the same as their 20th century descendents, but then no further explanation is given as to why they eye the same. Oh, well.

In any event, viewers swiftly catch caught up in the colonial-era proceedings as we meet a remarkable more innocent and likable Barnabas and the appreciate of his life, Josette. We also seek the memorable introduction of Angelique, a servant of Josette’s who Barnabas briefly had a dalliance with in the past but who isn’t eager in fair quietly stepping aside now that he’s alive to with the worthy more “wonderful” Josette. So, we learn that the pre-vampiric Barnabas wasn’t COMPLETELY innocent, as we actually feel a petite unpleasant for the jilted Angelique, even though she turns out to be truly diabolical in her revenge.

The lion’s part of episodes in this batch takes dwelling in the point to (well, the 1960’s “demonstrate”, but you know what I mean), with a minute handful of episodes toward the slay of the state shifting to the earlier era tale, which will play out through all the discs of Collection 5 and a bit beyond.

Like the earlier sets, each disc in this collection concludes with an keen interview, usually about 3-to-5 minutes in length, with a member of the cast or behind-the-scenes person.

I remained thoroughly fervent in this offbeat series and scrutinize forward to soon reporting on Collection 5!

Compare Prices on Ichi the Killer

After watching Takashi Miike’s worthy “Audition,” I opinion following up with “Ichi the Killer” an ample concept. I don’t watch considerable of a comparison between the two films unless you wish to stare at the disturbing scenes of gory violence and the fact that “Audition” has more of a social message than this gore extravaganza. I have near away with the impression that Miike is a sparkling filmmaker expedient of forcing coarse reactions from his viewers. Hollywood should select price of this guy and bring him over here for a project or two. But doing so probably wouldn’t work out; Miike’s warped visions would send American censors scrambling for a sedative, and most mainstream viewers would recoil from the graphic nature of this director’s films. A word of warning for those thinking of indulging in “Ichi the Killer”: the movie is loaded with sadism, gore, shadowy comedy, and all around unpleasantness. It’s as though this movie turns upside down everything we associate with cleanness and decency. It’s a tough seek, even for a gore fan like me, so prepare thoroughly–how, I cannot really stammer you because I do not know–before diving in. Reliable luck.

“Ichi the Killer” is based on a “manga,” a Japanese funny strip of a type often embodying grotesque images and disturbing themes. The film follows several Yakuza gangs as they do what they do best: execute, torture, region, and generally cause lots of unpleasantness. I am strange with the structure of the Yakuza, but I gathered from the film that there are numerous gangs (or families, as the mafia would say) each headed up by a boss. These bosses then picture to a committee still of other gang leaders and a sort of “boss of bosses”–played here by a wheezy dinky puny who pops up to deem disputes every now and again–designed to withhold everything from getting out of hand. When an anonymous killer named Ichi takes down a yakuza leader, the boss’s underlings, including a bleach blond thug by the name of Kakihara, explore revenge. At first, Kakihara thinks rival groups had something to do with the disappearance, so he kidnaps some thugs and tortures them in an peril to collect information. These horrible antics go so far beyond the pale that the yakuza overlords send Kakihara and his fellow gang members into exile. Instead of putting an waste to the out of control violence, this judgment only encourages Kakihara to even more uncouth acts of nastiness. It turns out that this blond goon worshipped his boss because the leader possessed the ability to fulfill Kakihara’s S&M cravings. This is sick stuff, to be distinct, but it only gets worse as the movie progresses.

Kakihara seeks out Ichi to avenge the boss but also to challenge the enigmatic assassin to a showdown. We soon learn Ichi is far from the chilly killer we have near to seek information from. He’s actually a meek sort who witnessed a brutal incident as a child and has since become a victim to his possess guilt. A guy named Jiji expertly manipulates Ichi’s psychological problems in order to carry out assassinations. All Jiji needs to do is stammer his friend that obvious people were enthusiastic in Ichi’s childhood trauma and mayhem quick ensues. Clad in a dusky suit bristling with razor intriguing blades, Ichi can turn a room bulky of people into sushi in about thirty seconds. After the murders prefer area, he often sinks into a weeping, cringing depression over what he has wrought. Jiji, completely indifferent to his friend’s remorse, always has a few more targets lined up for the slaughter. Women, children, and men: all are glorious game when Ichi goes on a rampage. As the movie progresses, and as Kakihara comes closer to his final showdown with the hyper violent Ichi, Miike throws in enough area twists and turns to withhold the viewer constantly guessing as to character motivations and the very nature of the reality these people go in.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ichi the Killer! Click Here

I am guessing I missed out on a ton of inside jokes and cultural references, probably because I do not shriek the language, am not Japanese, and do not live in that country. I have never even seen, let alone read, a manga laughable strip. Fortunately, Miike’s film boasts plenty of dusky humor and gory violence to the point that being non-Japanese makes cramped inequity in notion the narrate. You don’t have to be an expert on Japanese cinema to laugh at Jiji’s “muscular” transformation or the scenes where Kakihara expresses his disappointment at Ichi’s subservience when the two finally meet (Kakihara actually attempts to win his foe up in order to score him to fight! Laughable!) . And you definitely don’t need any inside knowledge to explore at the violence. This is an insanely sick film packed to the rafters with bloodshed and carnage. My mouth dropped start, and stayed that plot, when Kakihara administered a hot oil “bath” to a particularly close-mouthed gangster.

Gorehounds the world over will flock to “Ichi the Killer.” While you will need an iron stomach to secure through this one, the film goes to spacious lengths to indicate this is all cartoonish fantasy. I conclude taking the whole thing seriously after the tongue scene, when Kakihara said, “It will net better if I retain talking,” and then spoke normally in the following scene. I took this as a wink-wink, nudge-nudge from Miike, a message to the viewer that one should not catch the film to heart. As far as the DVD goes, I assume it should go without saying that watching the unrated edition is the method to go. If you really want to contemplate a movie like this one, why destroy time and money fiddling around with a crop version?

Live Action Anime…yes it is an oxymoron, but it’s one plan to narrate what Director Takashi Miike has done with Ichi the Killer. It’s like a live action version of Akira or Ninja Scroll.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ichi the Killer! Click Here

The film’s area is secondary so I won’t dwell on it here, but if you have never seen Miike’s films, rep ready for a amble through the imagination of a complete excited man. The best piece about the film is that Miike and his team are actually outstanding technically, and his sense of humor is both recent and in my view hilarious.

Ichi the Killer is as glossed over and stylized as it is sadistic and violent, and gain me when I say that this film is violent. It’s sexually violent protest is out of whack as well and alone might win Ichi an NC-17 trace but it’s violence is so astonishing it almost seems cartoon-like. If you didn’t earn humor in films like Insensible Alive, Robocop, Contemptible Stupid 2 or Extinguish Bill pass on Ichi, but if you like those films like I do, give Miike a chance, you won’t regret it.

Once again, the creative minds gradual Pixar have created enchantment … possibly their best film in years. Everyone loves Ratatouille…even though he is a rat in the kitchen.

Indeed, the thought of rats in an upscale restaurant would normally have us hasten for mask. Nevertheless, the movie successfully blends the themes of the Repugnant Duckling with Cyrano de Bergerac to approach up with a incredible chronicle. Remy is a simple rat with an amazing nose. His idol is a tall French chef who lectures on the Food Channel. “Anyone Can Cook” is his mantra. So when Remy and his rat family have to leave their homes, Remy accidentally ends up in the very kitchen of this sizable Chef. Alas, the substantial chef has passed away, and the food standards are falling, as well as the Michelin stars. To reverse this trend, Remy – the rat – teams up with a clueless scullery boy in the kitchen to whip up some incredible recipes. Indeed, the rat’s food creations are a hit with the customers. The plight, as in all Cyrano stories, is that no one knows who is really slack those incredible recipes. And most notable, will the most difficult restaurant critic in Paris condemn or praise the food that Remy prepares?

Everything about this film is fabulous…the streets of Paris are recreated in rich colors and glorious detail. I haven’t seen a European city witness this splendid in an moving film since Disney’s “Pinocchio.” Oh my, even the French copper pots notice authentic.

I laughed hysterically throughout the film…particularly the times when the rat conceals himself in a chef hat and rides the garbage boy like a cowboy on a bronco. Please don’t miss this treat. Highly recommended.

Ratatouille is a lovely film and a amazing showcase for your fresh Blu-ray player. As attractive as this film was on cloak, it’s even more breathtaking on Blu-ray. Every detail and subtle color shine. I was truly blown away by the quality of the narrate.

As for the film itself, it holds up even better the second or third time around. Definitely a more sophisticated yarn than what’s usually expected in an exciting film. And while really young children may squirm through a lot of this, that doesn’t at all detract from the quality of this enormous film. Creative, laughable, heartfelt and ultimately satisfying, Ratatouille defies the genre – raising the bar once again on American involving films. PIXAR continues to make in an entirely different league than it’s competitors. You can’t even compare this film to anything else. It makes the ridiculously current Shrek leer, well, green.

Bonus features are bewitching, particularly the well-concieved short on the history of Rats. Original Blu-ray Bonus materials let you interact with the film in recent ways making the “Making Of” featurette quite imersive. Most of the info is for student’s and hard core fans of animation. The short LIFTED also appears on this disc as well as the honest released PIXAR SHORTS DVD/Blu-ray.

While it lacks the high adventure and fan-boy characters of some of Pixar’s earlier works, Rataouille will be regarded with more and more acclaim as time goes by. Critic’s rightfully praised the film in it’s theatrical release but American audiences didn’t choose to it as eagerly as past films. The overseas market has been strong, bringing in quite a bit more Internationally than other Pixar hits, which is an provocative side notice I reflect. What it says about American tastes and tolerance for animation that isn’t Jubilant Meal ready is sobering.

MARTIAN CHILD was marketed incorrectly – that can be the major reason for its lack of success in the theatrical release. While all the multiplex theaters are overflowing with loud, improper, raunchy, and special effects driven financial successes (with major exceptions, of course!), puny meaningful and sensitive films such as this are submerged and don’t last long. Should the name of the film have been different? Should the advertisements been better designed? Who knows, but for those who now have the opportunity to take or rent MARTIAN CHILD, there is a special experience in store.

Based on the recent ‘The Martian Child’ by David Gerrold (beautifully adapted for the hide by Seth Bass and Jonathan Tolins), Director Menno Meyjes has gathered an exceptional cast to expose this anecdote about human needs and how we all accept security in the warmth of other caring beings. David (John Cusack) is a successful science fiction writer who is a widower, tranquil grieving for his wife. His agent Jeff (Oliver Platt), his sister Liz (Joan Cusack) and his wife’s best friend Harlee (Amanda Peet) abet his ‘convalescence’, but David feels the need for a child. When social worker Sophie (Sophie Okonedo) calls David concerning an available outlandish dinky boy Dennis (Bobby Coleman) who believes he is from the planet Mars and hides inside a box, covered with sunscreen and black glasses, David responds: he, after all, writes science fiction and is attracted to the notion that Dennis believes he is here from Mars on a mission. Against the advice of his practical sister, David agrees to rob Dennis home, feeling that he is one of the few who can picture to Dennis’ behavior.

Life at home is not easy, but with time David and Dennis bond and Dennis comes out of his box to become ‘normal’. It is the prolonged accelerate on which David and Dennis embark that holds the meat of the myth. Dennis has been deserted as a exiguous child and finds security in believing he is a visiting Martian who will be ‘taken home’ to Mars when his mission to understand human beings is complete. David’s persistent parenting (quoting Churchill’s ‘Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give up’), while tested to the coarse, results in a bonding with Dennis that is heart wrenchingly attractive. And how each of the characters’ lives is changed by this unbelievable relationship brings the film to a touching finish.

In addition to the radiant performances by both Cusacks, Peet, Platt, and Okonedo, there are brief but grand cameos by Anjelica Huston and Richard Schiff among others. This is a film that makes a major statement about parenting and single parenting in particular and does so with kindness, tenderness, and right emotion. Please examine this film. Grady Harp, February 08

Being a single guy myself, looking into the adoption process of becoming a father of a special needs (older/behavioral) child, I was aroused about this movie coming out. I have always believed that we need more movies such as this one that shows adopting an older child and single adoption in a superb light. There are many older kids such as the one displayed in the movie that need homes. I know this because I am also a child therapist and I work with many of them. What I liked about the movie is how it shows what truly a single man goes through when trying to adopt. I have an older sister honest like the one in the movie. Everything that Cusack’s sister said to him, my sister said to me. “These older kids have problems, why would you want to deal with that? ” she has stated to me. Also how the system looks at a single man not suitable or queer to want to raise kids is there also. It’s gloomy we live in a society in which men are not shriek to cherish kids… unless they are his acquire or unless they are on the football field or something. The lack of clear male role models is one thing that is damaging our society.

The missing fragment of the movie that I view could have made it better is I was expecting the kid to have been more difficult… displaying behavior that would have made it harder to treasure him. The slight guy in the movie was easy to cherish. That’s what didn’t accomplish sense to me. He was very socially odd; however, his behavior was not all that poor. I don’t understand why a therapeutic foster home or family couldn’t handle him. He wasn’t aggressive physically or verbally and didn’t have any of the distinguished issues such as self despicable or sexually acting out behavior. He was impartial a very neglected, possibly abused child that lived in a fantasy world in order to cope with his reality. Also I didn’t understand why the so called mental health experts in the movie notion this behavior was abnormal taking into sage that the kid was abandoned and likely abused. It is very accepted for severely abused and neglected children to live in a fantasy world. I can’t count the number of group home kids I have worked with that stated that their mother unprejudiced bought them an xbox360 or something else broad and I know they don’t even have parents. It’s easier to effect up unfounded stories about being loved than to live with the reality of not being wanted. Also I wish there were more heart felt moments in the movie. The ones that were in the movie were basically ruined by watching the trailer.

Also I have read many reviews stating that the ruin of the movie was abominable. I concept the last scene when Cusack told the boy how notable and special he is was the best fraction of the movie. That scene made the movie! There are many, many kids who need to hear what Cusack said to that boy. Most people who don’t have any experience working with unwanted children may believe that scene was corny, however those who do have experience working with or being one of those kids, that scene was perfect. Sizable movie however unbiased a cramped under five stars!

By the blueprint, to totally like this movie you have to stare at it as a pure drama and not science fiction. Peep the movie with the plan that unwanted, abused and abandoned kids get up fantasy stories in order to cope with their reality and the so called “science fiction” share of the movie will execute more sense. Also pick into tale that an adoption process takes at least a year. All of these “sappy” moments could have EASILY happened in a year time frame.

This movie could also be old-fashioned in group therapy for foster kids as a design to pick up them to advise themselves about their novel issues. Many foster and adopted kids have experienced many of the same situations the young boy in the movie faced. The movie is pleasurable to utilize to initiate a discussion and behold feelings and aid kids accept awareness about themselves… objective a belief.

Despite being a large BSG fan, I wasn’t really looking forward to “BSG: The Conception”. After BSG: Razor failed to trace, I wasn’t expecting powerful from The Thought. Fright not, The Belief, hereinafter referred to as TP, actually works. It plays like a filler episode, exploring various mysteries which the writers never fully explained to the viewers. TP follows a chronological order, beginning before the Cylon attack, going to “33″, “Water”, “You Can’t Go Home Again”, “Litmus”, “Six Degrees of Separation”, and ending with season 2’s finale of “Lay Down Your Burdens, Fraction II”. Kudos to director EJ Olmos and writer Jane Espenson for seamlessly threading in the current scenes and better fleshing out previously thin characters.

Mysteries such as the following are explored…

- Who did Caprica-Six meet with on Caprica, after talking with Gaius Baltar in the marketplace?

- Did Boomer really blow up the water tanks?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Battlestar Galactica: The Plan! Click Here

- How did Shelly Godfrey dash from the Galactica?

- How did Sam Anders and his Pyramid team hurry and create their resistance?

- How did Ellen Tigh survive the Cylon nuclear attack on Picon?

- How did Leoben become so enamored of Starbuck?

- Why did the Cylons suddenly terminate their attack when the BSG Marines linked up with Sam’s resistance on Caprica?

We also regain to perceive more of Boomer’s internal conflicts between Cylon and human facets, as well as a deeper insight into the Number Four model, Simon. A Simon model is shown to be sympathetic to the human cause, even marrying a human (played by EJ Olmos’ trusty wife) and raising a family. We search for Cavil’s machinations as he attempts to orchestrate several Cylons into causing massive hurt to the Snappy.

The computer graphics for TP are vastly profitable to the shots primitive during the TV series, and the viewers are shown some scenes from the Cylon attack on the Colonies. Interestingly, TP also has a graphic sex scene, as well as graphic male and female frontal nudity not unlike the horrible scene from Starship Troopers. Some of the nudity felt rather gratuitous and excessive; was it really indispensable to display Ellen Tigh and Cavil meeting in a topless bar?

Minus 1-star because President Roslin, aka Mary McDonnell, and Number Three, aka Lucy Lawless, are never shown, either in a flashback or inserted original footage! Starbuck, Lee Adama, Dr. Baltar, and Helo are shown in clips, but no original footage from them either.

All in all, a very trustworthy pickup for any BSG fan. EJ Olmos has said that if TP sells well, then we can question to peek even more BSG movies in the future. Other potential anecdote lines might include the origins of the Final Five, what happened to the survivors after they reached Earth, or more about Starbuck’s character, especially her fateful mission where she “died”. TP makes you wish SciFi (aka SyFy) didn’t slay BSG so soon.

**A snappy word about the Blu-Ray discs; the image quality is solid. The DTS soundtrack sounds immense, especially in the Cylon Attack scenes. It’s a treat to hear Fill McCreary’s music again.

Other features; commentary by director EJ Olmos and writer Jane Espenson, 15 minutes worth of deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes view at EJ Olmos’ directorial BSG debut, twenty cramped visual effects feature, a cylon primer, and a short with Michael Trucco discussing a human resistance attack.

While definitely not a stand-alone portion like Razor, The View is definitely recommended for BSG fans. Many of the things going for it invent it easily criticized, but if you believe what you know after watching The Understanding and what you didn’t know before watching it, some of those criticisms open to become significantly less gross.

For example, many reviewers criticize this movie for its arguably excessive exhaust of stock footage from the TV prove. While there were definitely times that the footage in the movie looked familiar, I expeditiously found myself realizing that the scene was evolving into something current and not in a previous season. What I mean to say by this is that the unique footage is almost woven in too well to the customary footage; in a plan you consider you’re unexcited seeing an conventional clip when in fact Edward James Olmos has seamlessly woven that musty clip into unusual footage. The waste attain is that the viewer feels like they’ve sort of been taken backstage to gape what has been going on from the Cylon point of thought.

Another attractive consistent complaint is the lack of recent major location developments (aka the epic presents no surprises and doesn’t ultimately order us anything we didn’t already know) . Again, I would say that it’s in the subtle fleshing out of space points that the movie achieves it’s greatest success; you’ll rep yourself nodding your head agreeing with why characters are doing what they’re doing, but at the destroy of a scene or at the ruin of the movie you’ll earn you have gained a deeper idea into why definite characters did the things they did. Also, would viewers really like anything unique plot-wise to occur in a movie that attempts to further justify the events of the first two seasons? I assume more complaints would be seen if the movie tried to occupy the tale and location in a radically fresh direction.

With a total runtime of almost 70 hours, Battlestar Galactica spanned many different station arcs and themes and explored many different characters to provide us with a truly trustworthy exhibit. It’s unreasonable, and in fact, arguably unwanted, to try to cram that worthy exposition into a two hour movie. What The Concept instead tries to do, and what it succeeds in doing, is providing a bit more exposition on characters and location elements that didn’t find as distinguished focus during the prove, while also providing some thematic material that allows BSG fans to continue probing the differences and similarities between humans and Cylons. Notice it with an inaugurate mind, and most of all, glance it in context; realize that the movie is not trying to tread especially unique ground but instead sit comfortably within an existing storyline and rob you unhurried the scenes so that the ground already treaded makes more sense. While the movie certainly didn’t have any epiphanies of the scale prove in the TV reveal, thinking about the movie in the hours since watching it has made me aware of the subtle things I did rep from seeing it. These realizations post-movie have really made me want to rewatch the entire series over again, and the insights gained from The Opinion will beget re-experiencing the display that grand better. For anyone who plans on seeing Battlestar Galactica again and enjoying it even more, The View is highly recommended.
