I think that this is a very good idea. This will make more for the government. More money for them to spend on thing that are useless. that is how good our governement is. Our governement is so good that they almost have to down the governement for a defecet.
I think they should keep the casinos for people who want to losse they’re money. if they want to lose it they can go to the new one they judt opened.
I think tha gambleing is a good thing for michigan. it creats jobs for the unemployed and creats revenue for the state of michigan.
I think there should be even more casinos spread out around michigan creating a big tourist attraction somwwhat like vegas
I think that building casinos in Michigan is stupid to do, because last week the Government had no money, but built a 800 million dlooar casino. I think that they should of spent their money on something else instead of casnios and hotels.
Well I’m not for or against gambling, but I think that putting a casino in Michigan at the current point in time is stupid. Our economy is failing as it is, we don’t need people losing all their money. Casinos are always built with the odds against you, not to mention the millions of dollars the government is wasting to put this up. We can’t compare to Vegas. One building can’t compare to an entire city.
i think that gambling in michigan would be a good idea. it would bring a lot of new jobs for people. it would also bring a lot of tourists.
It does not matter to me if we have more casinos. I think it would be better for Michigan , and we would get more tourists. I think gambling is not bad because it is your choice what you do with your money.
I think that have to ways to annalize. The first way is the good thing, the city will have more attractions, so that can make people come here to visit, bring more tourists. But the bad thing is, there are people that can control yourselves, so they will spent money that with din’t have casino they will don’t spent, but I think that is thing for concious, each one knows what to do with our money.
I think the casino is a good idea. Everyone loves the casino and building a new one closer to home will make things a lot easier. I’m turning 18 soon and if played right its possible to make a lot of money.
While it’s true that our state – Detroit especially – needs an economic boost, I don’t really think that opening mega-casinos in Detroit is the best way to remedy our problem. Our unemployment rate is the worst in the country, yet MGM is opening a MASSIVE casino in Detroit, one of the most impoverished cities in this country. I don’t really think that having the unemployed pouring every dime they posess into gambling is the best way to help them get back on their feet.
I’m sure some will argue that this is good business, and good for the economy (there’s some statistic about how spending has increased in Detroit…), but at the same time, the amount of money that is lost at casinos every year is astounding. I don’t really care too much about this issue, but that’s how I feel about it…
i think that was a bad decision on their part because we have a bad economy and no one has any money to gamble with. But, on the flip side it may bring tourism to our state and bring us money so it might not turn out to be such a bad thing.
i think that it is a good idea for them to bring the casinos to michigan. Because it could offer jobs, it could help the economy. If people want to gamble they should gamble, thats there money to waste. I think the casinos will attract tourists to come to Michigan, and help the emplyment.
For me gambling isn’t a big deal, I know when enough is enough, but I’ve only played like poker or texas holdem the two games that I’m really good at and it’s not even a big deal. There are people out there who don’t have the money to gamble, but they do because they think that maybe they will get lucky and win. That really sucks that they are starting to put casinos in Michigan because I think that there might be a problem with it starting to become too much like the real main Casino states, ewww!!!
i really never thought about the casinos in Michigan, but i don’t like the idea that we have them and we don’t have jobs. i can understand that gambling can bring tourists but our government is plumiting and more than half our jobs are in Mexico. i just don’t understand why people would make a million dollar money whole and not make their people have money in their own state! i just don’t get it. i thoughr one casnio was bad people are just wasting money, it might be fun but i think we should stop gambling and create jobs and fix our goverenment!
The creation of new casinos here in Michigan is definitely making a big splash now. I don’t think that the encouragement of gambling is a positive thing to enforce now that we are creating casinos here in Michigan. However I do think that having a new business here that is some source of entertainment is a positive. I don’t relly think that this production is good or bad in one way or another, but I do think that there are equal amounts of positives and negatives in this situation.
I dont beileve that gambleing is bad. it can be funa dn it can also be addictive thats when it becomes bad.i am not sure that i support the casino building one hundred percent. i think that it can become a good source of incmoe but i do not think that the state should relie on that fact that income is coming in. but i don think the casinos are going to hurt the michiagan economy. we really cant go any lower.
I think the whole gambling thing could make Michigan more money meaning it would help out the economy. This opens up new opportunities for people to be employed. Michigan will be known for MGM Casino/hotel and will bring in more tourists from around the world. This a new beginning for Michigan and its a good beginning!
I really don’t care about the gambling but the casino will bring some jobs to michigan and it will bring tourists to michigan too. The tourists could possibly bring jobs to michigan. Gambling could be a bad thing if a person gets carried away and spend all their money on it. If our state could get more jobs by starting a gambling industry then they should do it, because it will possibly get more jobs in michigan.
Besides the obvious ethical and moral problems gambiling causes, I believe that it is good for the state. We aren’t loosing money really, it will all break even fairly soon, then go from there. But in places like Detroit, where jobs are needed so badly, this is a great solution. As far as Indian reservations go, that’s really not a question. They deserve that and so much more after what we did to them. But of course all gambling operations should be heavily monotired and viewed.
i personally dont really care if people want to gamble in Michigan. its their right to do whatever they want with their money and if spending it like that is the way they want to spend it i guess they have that right but personally i wouldnt i think gambling is a waste a time and not a good way to spend the the money you took time to earn. but i guess thats just my opinion.
i think that if detriot really does keep building casionos and eventually does turn in to a city simular to los vegas, that it would help the crime rate and make the state more money. i personally, dont have any opinion on gambling but if people enjoy it and the state encourages it.
I personally dont really care whether or not they gambel in Detrot or in Michigan. But if i were someone else that has family members that gambling problems I propbably wonldn’t want it closer to me. but i personally dont really care about it.
i think that gambling is fine to a surtain extent, and i think it would be fine to put another in Michigan because i believe its the peoples dicisions on weather or not they want to waist their money. i just think that its domb when people waist all their money and get obsessed with the idea of gambling, and think that they are going to win.
I believe it is good and bad for Michigan. It could help the economy by bringing business and what not, but it would also cause more pollution to our wonderful economy, with so many people coming, driving here in their vehicles, but that won’t be the only cause for pollution of course, the casinos them selves will also be the issue.
I think if we had casinos in michigan it would be a good idea. It would be more job oppurtunties for those who need a job and it would help out the economy tremendously.
For me, I don’t like gambling , it is because it may make people easy to sink in it , so it may effect the economy of the state, due to they spend all time to gamble and don’t go to work.And I think the gambling in Detroit may not very success in this few years , it is because the trade of gambling need to spend a long time to become popular and successful.
The gambling in the rest of Michigan on Native American Property,I think it is true , it seem like to use the property to gamble, but I don’t think it is a good idea.
