The Homework…

Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
What a great first few days of school it has been! We have loved getting to know your children and we are anticipating another great school year. One of the things apparent to us is that as parents you have more than a few family obligations to juggle during the week. Therefore, we will assign Spelling, Language Arts, and Math homework on Fridays expecting it to be returned the following Friday. We believe that this will allow you, as a family, to be more flexible in your child’s homework time thus allowing you to better assist your child in their academic studies. Another advantage of this learner-oriented method is that Math homework is often given at the end of a week’s worth of instruction. We believe that this will reinforce the Math skills your child has been developing in the classroom. We also want you to know that you can anticipate exceptions throughout the school year as there will be times when various Writing, Science, and Social Studies projects will be due in addition to their Spelling and Math homework. The homework your students turn in is for practice and is not necessarily graded and returned home. Late homework will be accepted but will be considered late and will impact your student’s report card scores.
