Good for iPod Add-on Adaptor![]()
Seem like Sony has fixed most of the problems and bugs on the previous XA-110IP. I added this XA-120IP to my Sony CDX-F5700 radio and it works perfectly. I do not see any problems that reported on the XA-110IP. It keeps track and resumes to the last song when you turn power off/on. It also charges the ipod battery while it playing the music.
Only inconvenience thing I found is once plugged-in, the iPod screen will be disable and the radio display only one line of text. It’s difficult to search through the album and playlist with only one line of text on the radio screen, unless you remember with what on your iPod.
I tried to plug-in the iPhone but it didn’t work. However, it charged the iPhone battery.
Overall, I’m happy with it (for the price and the new features added to my old system). Only recommend for add-on to the existing radio. If you are looking to buy a new radio, you should buy an ipod ready radio (something like CDX-GT820IP) instead this adapter.
Excellent!![]()
The Sony XA120IP iPod connector works great! Music sounds sweet, songs and playlists are displayed right on your Sony radio and you can use your remote control to switch songs. It also charges the 1st generation iPods. I have a 2nd generation iPod Nano and it doesn’t support charging, but still works beautifully. To install, simply plug it in to the back of your existing Sony radio. The unit comes with the RCA cables, BUS Input cable and iPod connector. If your radio input is not being used, there’s no need to purchase anything else, otherwise you will need to purchase the Sony input selector adapter.
Easy setup, small glitches![]()
The setup was quick and easy. For most parts the device works pretty well, however i noticed that you turn off your radio by turning off the ignition switch it does not remember it’s last position and it get’s confused. The way I worked around this is to switch to radio before I turn off the ignition. This allows the device to save the currently played song and position.
